The Leeds and Grenville Labour Council invite all residents and visitors to the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to join us on Sunday, September 1, 2024 @ The Brockville Arts Centre to celebrate Labour Day.

As part of our celebration, you are invited to watch the movie “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” (2022) for FREE. Popcorn and a drink will be provided for FREE as well. Door prizes and free giveaways will also be provided.

In partnership with the House of Dior, MRS. HARRIS GOES TO PARIS tells the story of a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress, and decides that she must have one of her own. After she works, starves and gambles to raise the funds to pursue her dream, she embarks on an adventure to Paris which will change not only her own outlook, but the very future of the House of Dior. Watch Mrs. Harris use worker organizing and other labour relations tools to bring change to the working environment.
